Sleepless Nights represent the evenings we spent perfecting our craft, the nights of mischief, the nights with friends that are embedded in our minds, the nights with women we lust & the nights we created music. Numb Hearts represent the isolation from temptations on those sleepless nights, as well as the ability to own a numb heart for anyone with an opinion regarding our vision, the ability to show no emotion and not let emotions impair our judgment, as well as a fearless attitude towards taking risks accompanied by a nonchalant approach solely based on logic.Shouts to: UHTN
"In celebration of Crown Royal Black's partnership with Big Boi, cameras went behind the scenes to document Big Boi in compelling moments of his life and career that showcase his definition of "The Crown Life." The short film lets audiences into Big Boi's life as he performed during the 2011 Grammy Awards weekend; inside his studio, Stankonia, as he prepares for his latest projects; and an evening out on the town in his hometown of Atlanta with stops at his favorite spots to unwind."
The latest episode of the Pitchfork.tv series "Selector" is pretty special. In a deviated from the usual "Selector" formula (in which rappers choose from two beats produced by indie artists for a freestyle backing track), we brought Dipset MC Jim Jones and mashup maestro Girl Talk together in Jones' Nomad District studio. Together, they created a new track: "Believe in Magic", produced by Girl Talk using a sample of 1970s soul group Honey Cone's "Want Ads" and freestyled by Jones. Jones liked the results much that he brought in R&B crooner Lloyd to contribute a hook and plans to release it as a single in the near future. This is a pretty dope idea brought together by Pitchfork.tv, and Girl Talk did a crazy job with the beat, but I don't feel like Jim Jones is the right person for this song.
