The Kid Daytona - New Yorker's Ambition ft. Aloe Blacc [Video]

Even after the release of The Interlude 2, The Kid Daytona continues to drop visuals for the predecessor, The Interlude. What makes this even better is that 'New Yorker's Ambition' feautring Aloe Blacc happens to be my favorite track from the project. It contains samples from Nas' 'The Genesis' off his infamous Illmatic album.

Exile Gives Update On Upcoming Projects

In an interview with exclaim.ca, Exile says that the follow-up to his and Blu's Below The Heavens album (yeah, we're big fans of it) is nearly completed. He also continues to talk about another new album that he's working on with Aloe Blacc, in which Aloe is back to his rapping roots. No word on when these projects will be released.

Aloe Blacc - Tonight Downtown [Video]

I wouldn't consider myself much of a fan of blues music, but there's something about the songs that Aloe Blacc puts together that really stands out to me.

Adele, Amy Winehouse, & Aloe Blacc Form Supergroup: Truth & Soul

For anybody that was watching Game 4 of the Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat game tonight, you may have seen the commercial for Rockstar Games' upcoming release L.A. Noire. Rockstar is going all out for this game, releasing two soundtracks along with it. The first soundtrack will consist of jazz music sounding like that of the 1940s, while the other will be a short 6-track EP consisting of modern artists creating their own sound to jazz golden era tracks. One song from the latter soundtrack, a remake of Louis Jordan's "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens", will be produced by hip-hop's legendary producer DJ Premier (which can be streamed under the cut). Another track will be a remake of Gene Krupa's "Sing Sing Sing" and will be redone by a group by the name of Truth & Soul, who we just found out from Complex is made up of three amazing artists by the name of Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Aloe Blacc (ever hear of them? *jokes*). One can only hope that they enjoy working together, create a great product, and decide to continue their work together in the future.

Moments With Aloe Blacc

"Inspired by Good Things, Mihalj Kekenj re-arranged Aloe Blacc’s album to be played solely by a string quartet; in turn the artist Jaybo used Mihalj’s version of ‘I Need A Dollar’ to act as the starting point for a one-off painting."
