After seeing so much success in the music business in his home country with his debut album, Something Awesome, debuting at number one on the New Zealand iTunes, David Dallas began gaining recognition from some big names in the United States. Not only was his video for "Big Time" featured on Kanye West's blog, but in November of last year he was also signed to Duck Down Records (home to acts such as Skyzoo, Sean Price, Marco Polo, Buckshot, Smi-N-Wessun, and more). Since he thought that he could find more success in the U.S., he moved to NYC and shortly after dropped his album, The Rose Tint, for absolutely free. The Rose Tint quickly gained buzz and saw co-signs coming from all different angles, including the track "Take A Picture" being used in an Entourage special on HBO. Dallas decided to re-release his project for purchase with bonus tracks as well as an instrumental CD. As of early last month, The Rose Tint: Deluxe Edition is available for download on iTunes, as well as Duck Down's website. So, for those out there still wondering who this kid is, it's time to go out and support one of the hands down best albums of the year.
